How Does Your Muscle Spindle Know When It's Time to Contract?
How does the muscle know it's time to contract? Ah, this is actually controlled by a couple different little tectors. One of those is called the muscle spindle, and this is a stretch detector. The other detector here is called the golgy tendon organ. You can think of that as the equal and opposite companion to the muscle spindles job.
