Is There a Difference Between Lactate and Bacterial Meningitis?

The differential could be really wide and includes a septic menigitis as well. Supposedly, lactate levels tend to be higher in that than in bacterial meningitis. I find lactates are always, i'm a little wary of lactates. Yet, there has been research on some of some of these other inflammatory morkers,. Black tape, pro calcitonan, c r p and nit i usually don't ask for those.
