The Fear of Dropping the Ball

Bosses need to get rid of the fear of dropping the ball. We want those people to lead, to explore, to experiment. That means they need to fail. Encouraging failure is the job of the boss. But the boss doesn't like doing that. The boss chooses to demand compliance instead. And i think we have to take a deep breath and realize, if we want innovation, we have to understand that the building block we are training people for is the building block of failure. Earnest, useful failure.
