understanding by design is fundamentally a way of thinking. It's a way of prioritizing your teaching, focusing your curriculum and making sure we're assessing everything that matters. A school leader who wants to introduce u b d to a faculty, i think, needs to help people earn itb. Backward design doesn't handcuff or prescribe how you teach, but it does guide and focus the systematic development of important skills.
