What Can Science and Engineering Bring to Thrilling Experiences?

The thrill-seeking gene, the D4-DR dopamine receptor, lives on chromosome 11. People who have a polymorphism in this gene can't process dopamine as well as others. The name of thrill seekers came up associated with people who have this gene deficiency. I went and got myself tested. And sadly to say, I am a sufferer from having a polymorphism of the D 4-DR gene. But I'm not unusual. In the UK, there are around 1 in 30 people who has this genetic defect. This really doesn't tell us much about how to design and create a new thrilling experience. Science describes thrill as the exhilaration or excitement in response to novel stimuli.
