The Body Is an Adaptive Machine
The first step is to question this idea that it's stress that changes the human body. We need to do away with that attitude, because it is certainly possible to beat your body to a pulp and not get very far at all. So we have to look at not stress that drives adaptation, but education. When we train, think of that word train. If you train an animal, if you train even a plant, like you can train a tree to grow a certain way, what you're doing is you're not stressing it. You're just telling it, hey, i need you to develop in this way, in this direction.
