Methionine is one of the essential amino acids we need. Vegans will get enough methionine to satisfy what the RDA suggests are basic needs for methionine. sulfate is used for detoxification, hormone metabolism and it's used percardiovascular protection and for joint protection from the proteoglycans in your joints. It's probably better to err on the side of getting both of those but I think that people are very prone to self-justification so a lot of people hear that and they're like well I can put collagen in my coffee and I can eat all the bacon I want and I can just like mostly steak and they don't actually balance that well
