Alexander Sasha Shulgen was the psychedelic chemist in the Bay Area. He synthesized like 200 unique psychoactive drugs and would have these drug parties. In 1975, he mentored Carl Resnikov who wanted to make an MDMA-like drug called MDA. The two went on a ferry from San Francisco to Sausoleito where they took DMA.
