The Unintentional Funding of the Misinformation Machine
Digi-Day's Marty Swandt covered a new report from News Reliability Rating Service News Guard. The report details 57 nonprofit and government organizations whose programmatic ads ended up on disinformation websites. A Google spokesperson, Told Swandt, the company had taken action against 1.5 billion publisher pages on 143,000 websites in 2022 alone. While podcasting isn't 100% perfect, we've got quite a few brand safety developments on our site this week.
