Psychology training really breeds attention to the body out of people, even medical training. Traditional therapy was ignoring this sensei dimension of these experiences and trying to reduce it to talk therapy which absolutely didn't fit with the experience. Antonio de Masio in his books, The Feeding of What Happensreally talks about our core experience of ourselves is a somatic experience. And the function of the brain is to take care of the body. But it's a minority voice. It's a small voice.
