There were a lot of misconceptions back then that we had to say combine protein sources. grains tend to be low in lysine beans, some may be slightly low in methionine and cysteine. And thinking that we have to get all of these central amino acids at once, it seemed to make sense. But what people didn't realize is that we have these amino acid pools in our body.
