ADHD Anger - What Are Some Signs That You're on the Edge of the Cliff?

What do you notice about yourself when you are on the verge of or in the midst of an emotional outburst? You get a headache. You start perspiring. What are some signs that you're heading off the edge of the cliff? For me, I end up feeling like a certain kind of shakiness in my gut and sometimes a tightening in my chest. That lets me know that I'm headed into the land of overreaction rather than response. It can take at least 20 minutes for our body and our brain to recover from the release of those hormones. Many threats that we face today are much more symbolic than the physical ones our brains evolve to deal with.
