A study published in the journal sexualities focused on how parents who were in consentially nonminogamous relationships a perceived and negotiated risk. The framework for understanding these relati ships and also the family configurations was queer theory. So they that there was a decline in physical contact with non nested partners, which seems to make sense. But basically saying the assumption is the opposite of what the odent seems to suggest.
