I think we want to give some dignity and aura to everyday things, particularly in the world of work where a lot of us actually wonder if our work is meaningful at all. And so I think there's a very long tradition of people finding meaning in making things and in craft. You know, one of the most powerful critiques of industrial work under capitalism is alienation that by picking out so many different components and having each person just kind of add one little bit. We'd like to sort of see it as creative.
