The Evolution of Leprosy
Tuberculosis might be a better competitor than the leprosy mycobacterium lepre. The Hawaiian king, Lakameha Meha, signed into law to prevent the spread of leprosy in 1865. This act remained in effect for guess how long? More than 100 years. 1969 is when it was finally repealed. But did it disappear? No way. Did horrible ways that victims retreated come to an end? Hell no.
