It took so very long for the chilies to actually move into the two provinces we most associate with them, maybe the three. It's really not until the mid seventeenth oma, the eighteenth century that they're attested there. Do you think that it's because these sort of scholar literati types didn't pay attention t to this? Or do you think it was u sort of just this slo osmotic process of transmission across pretty vast territory? I think it's a combination of both.
