The Importance of Plant-Based Diets

When it comes to plant-based products, what we see on the label is generally going to be a higher estimate than what's actually in the product. 80% of the plant protein is consumed in the United States comes from wheat. If you get below 50% of your protein coming from animal protein, you can't meet your essential amino acid requirement with the RDA. To get to 100 grams of protein, you're going to have to eat 400 grams of carbs to get there.
