The FAA Shortens Air Traffic Controllers
FAA announced 169 new flight routes in the eastern US are shorter and faster. Part of a seven year effort from the FAA and airlines to redraw high altitude route maps for planes. But there's some bad news too: The FAA is short about 3000 air traffic controllers. One in five controller jobs is vacant, last year the FAA hired 1,026 controllers but more controllers retired than planned.
