How Do You Integrate Story Telling With Economic Models?

i'm struck by the stark contrast between that economic approach and the incredible richness of the argumentation that you use in your books. Yours is where individuals matter and things are local. And it's interesting to me, because i've always had a really hard time trying to integrate that sort of story telling with economic models. And i just feeling you've done a better job.
