"I think it's really interesting to consider how the story module we have is being hijacked," he says. "If the Kardashian stories weren't good stories, you wouldn't have heard of the Kardashians,. It's sort of extreme evolutionary pressure on stories right now to make them appealing" He adds that in a dichotomy of hype versus value, where hype is all the things that make people interested in something, including mechanisms of social status; while value is what we like truly care about other than social status.
