The Importance of History in Business

In the real world, when you add one thing to another, you don't always get to. Two gallons of water and one gallon of alcohol doesn't have something less than two gallons of liquid because it comes somewhat denser. So there's lots of these things in the real world. And then history is somewhat similar. There is no such thing as history. It's just one thing that is permanent and stays the same all the time. I'm very familiar with the concept of delayed gratification but after reading your book, I think I'll even practice it more in investing.
