The Life and Times of My Father
Coming up June 3rd, it'll be the 20 year anniversary of him dropping dead. I think I became a filmmaker because my dad used to take me to the movies like he would pull me out of Catholic school on Wednesdays to go the first mat and eggs. And then we went to see Raiders of the Lost Ark. Formative experience number one is a great movie. But number two, my father was a man of very few words, very circumspect. He's not open. He doesn't wear his heart on his fucking sleeve. Well, he doesn't wear anything anymore. He's fucking dead. Yes. Fucking amen.
