CHAPTER

How to Cite Your Own Original Research

If I cite my own previously published original research in a new piece of research, then yeah, I got to explicitly cite myself. That's called self-citation, and I've certainly observed scientists appearing to chewhorn self-citations into their papers because it makes them look super important. But you got to tell people where you got your info. You got to show your receipts unless you created the knowledge yourself by doing original research that you are documenting here and now. Am I the only person in the room who just learned that? Nice! Thank you. One person raised their hand.
