How to Manage Unintended Consequences of Nudges in Your Work
Jonathan Hall and Joshua Madsen have just published a paper in Science magazine highlighting that highway signs displaying traffic death statistics in Texas don't prevent car crashes. They may slightly increase them but they were distracting attention from the job in hand driving safely. To what extent do you take into account unintended consequences of nudges in your work and how do you manage it again? It's about testing but it is difficult because I believe there was a study where they used to watch your eyes effects and they put pictures of eyes around train stations or something to reduce bicycle thefts. You have to test and collect data as much as possible but that data might be outside your field of awareness so I don't know if there
