How to Make Money With Artificial Scarcity
Artificially limiting access to digital products which have near zero marginal cost is an inherently questionable act. It prevents some people, a lot of people, from accessing valuable information or resources and it contributes to inequality and social exclusion. But artificial scarcity isn't a silver bullet to immediate income. You can do tiny things, you can run a time-limited discount, but you have to mean it. Having this fake countdown timer that resets every time somebody refreshes your page will quickly destroy any semblance of goodwill towards you,. So just say honest with buyers, word of your manipulative exploits will spread really fast.
