The Training Injury Prevention Paradox
Pilates is all load management. If the load is light enough that your system can tolerate it, you can do it with any form you frickin want. That's something called the training injury prevention paradox. The interpretation there is that athletes who have very consistently high training volumes develop a tolerance to those volumes. And so they're less likely to become injured. Whereas those ever relatively lighter training load, when they get on the field, they're less conditioned. Their system has a lot of tolerance and so they're more easily injured.
