The Importance of Hydration
Men at rest sweat five ounces an hour while men walking in the sun sweat a full court That's two pounds of water in just 60 minutes Although it does include the water vapor they were breathing out which one recent study showed can account for 16 percent of weight loss over 90 minutes of exercise. They used those numbers to project how much water a soldier would need to travel a given distance at a certain temperature. Over time this one little factoid changed everything we thought we knew about hydration. The sensation of thirst didn't keep up with fluid loss an extreme heat. It can't be trusted.
