Is Caffeine Really Boosting Your Energy?
Caffeine increases your caffeine tolerance. When the caffeine is not in your system, you have increased adenosine signaling. You are actually hurting your energy levels through this process. Your baseline normal levels of energy are lower now. And so the boost that you feel subjectively is actually just a boost back up to your pre-caffeinenormal levels of energy and mood and wakefulness.
