The Importance of Prayer in Meditation
Think not he hears the little prayers of those who call on him with names of idols cherished by the world. They cannot reach him thus, he cannot hear requests that he be not himself or that his son receive another name than this. That passage has been used as like a proof text that God doesn't hear our prayers. When in context, it means the exact opposite. If you spend your whole meditation praying to the idols of the world, you won't be inviting God. He's not going to come and respond to that. Your thoughts have a different address than God's.
