i think that part of it, like what gets lost when people heres the message that calories are really all that matter, is that for people who are nutritionlly ignorant, right? They're not aware of how food can affect behavior. And now, i've never been over weight, so i've never struggled with this personally. But i would imagine that that's essentially setting themselves up for failure, right? It's like they eat less, move more. Advice that that seems to fail time and time again.
