The Origin Story of the Flutophone
Sally Kohn: I was born in a small town in New Jersey. In third or fourth grade, we got flutophones in school. She says nobody in her family played an instrument and no one had gone to college. Kohn went on to get a degree as an undergraduate in music education; then taught public school for a while. Now she works at the University of Texas Austin where she's been faculty member since 2007.
