Working Memory Is Only as Good as Your Attention
Being sleep deprived definitely decreases your working memory. Same thing if you're eating a crummy diet, or your not eating often enough. All these things will decrease the amount of working memory that you have operating at that time. It's interesting that people with idiate often complain about memory problems.
