When Henry died in 1547, he was succeeded by his only son, Edward VI. Catholics were persecuted, and all the old Catholic traditions of the Church of England were dismantled. But then Edward died, at just fifteen years old, with no air of his own, and the crown passed to his older sister Mary. Just like her jilted mom, Mary was super-Catholic. For her deeds, Protestants called her Bloody Mary. And then, five years later, Mary died without an air, so the crown was passed to her younger sister, Elizabeth. Elizabeth was Protestant, so, once again, England left the Catholic Church.
