The Importance of Understanding the Sky

The sky is not the weather, but weather is something that happens in the sky. So it is of utmost importance to probably develop the skill of learning to understand the sky. A really good example of this would be a flagpole or a wind sock. In paragliding, we use not necessarily aviation wind socks because we want to be able to read the wind at lower levels.
