Emmit was nervous about how his parents would identify him in public. When they talk about him in chinese, since the pronouns for he and she sound the same, he can't tell if they're misgendering him. But is that because english isn't their first language, or is it because they don't see him as their son? Hapy emmett told us that he suspected his physical health was one of his mam's biggest fears about him transitioning.
