I think that being more mindful allows you to in a way forgive people forgive people for their actions forgive people that have wronged you and so on. meditation is supposed to bring about this concept of mindfulness where you focus your thoughts and emotions in the present moment. If we get back to that rumination the dwelling on negative emotions it prolongs the negative mood which creates chronic stress.
