How to Position Yourself in a Category Creating Company?
If you're creating a category creating company, or a category defining company, where it is truly novel and new, there isn't anything else out there. Most companies get their start in an existing market like sales force at the beginning was a niche play in c r m. Only a very, very small sliver of te companies that are actually duing category creation and do it successfully. The history of silica valley teaches us that the most likely outcome for category creators is that they exhaust their resources and the patience of their investors by trying to compete with fast followers.
