How Many Calories Can Most People Digest and Absorb Per Hour?

Research shows very little effects on gastric amaging, even at pretty high exercise intensities. We've observed in almost all athletes that we've ever tested that the maximum uptake of carbohydrate is around 60 grams of carbohydrate per hour. And it doesn't seem to matter whether you are a very light runner or a very heavy runner. That number seems to be pretty consistent. It may change a little bit throughout the year so that in often off season you see that number reduced a little bit. In season when you're actually used to taking on larger amounts of carbohydrate, that number seems to go up a little bit but it's still always around the 60 grams per hour or 240 calories per hour.
