The Halo Effect and Mental Accessibility
With any change to people's environment, there is an opportunity for marketers. People tend to repeat their behaviour from the last time they're in that situation. So habits are a big problem for anyone to unchange behaviour. If someone's environment changes, because habits are contextually queued, if that environment changes the habit is weakened and it's more open to change. There is a potential upside to any of these disabling rising forces. It weakens people's habits and gives you as a model to encourage people to change their behaviour.
