After getting a PhD in economics, John Defterios went to work for management consulting firm McKinsey. He says he was drawn away by the pull of McKinsey and decided to try his hand at being an academic again. But after five years there, defterios realized that academia wasn't where he wanted to spend his life. "I'm going to go back to what really drives me this intellectual curiosity,"Defterios said.
