How Did You Come to Be a Documentary Film Maker?

I've been interested in documentary film making since i was about eight ten. As far as i know, there's no obvious way to get into documentary film making,. But often that doesn't lead to any work. I applied for a job at honeypot and they said, wy don't you come out to berlin and help us make films? They was pretty crazy.
