Benzos reduce muscular tone in the upper airway and put patients at risk for obstruction. Adavan aspan is conjugated in the liver, not by the c y p system,. So renal impairment doesn't prolong its action because it won't be conjugated. An infusion of adivan is a problem overtime, because it's in propoline glycal. And so you can actually get propoline glyCal toxicity from an adivan infusion. Remi maselam, interestingly, is a new benzo deasapine, which, like remi fentonel, is cleared and broken down by non specific tissue esterases. We may see that more in the future
