Is Over Confidence a Good Measure of Performance?
An alternative explanation of our findings is that people are simply care about their job and this is a very good measure for them. So maybe you could relate everything we've been talking about, back to over confidence. Because when managers get the news about their performance and their relative performance, they might find out that they were being over confident,. in the sense of their performing worse than expectations or with other people's performance. Do economists have any ideas about what determines either behaviour? What makes it more likely that i decide to give up when i learn bad news, or that I decide to really get motivated and catch up when i get that news? It's a very interesting question, and i'm afraid
