The French Revolutionary Revolutionary Socialists

Early utopian socialists were highly critical of the failures of the disciples of the enlightened philosophes to produce anything resembling a just society. This first generation of proto socialists did not yet abandon capital or reason as the proper tool to eradicate social and political injustice. The oldest and most influential of this generation was the comte de saint simon, who spent his life developing a framework for a scientifically perfected society.
