Alexander discovered an overall coordinating mechanism within the brain itself. He was starting gradually to map out the eye in relation up to the body, and then he found it could only find a torso on his map. The visual cortex makes up about a third of the whole neocortex. And just above the neck area, that's the region where our clear-sided perception is held.
