Surgical Interventions - Should We Get to the Physical Exam?
The goal of this assessment is to alter the probability of serious systemic disease or conditions that necessitate surgical intervention or evaluation. If it's not either of those things, the remaining diagnoses are not crucially important for the primary care clinician to differentiate among. Bone spinal tenderness can be helpful if you suspect things like fracture or infection by history. But otherwise, it might not be quite as helpful.
