The Importance of Specificity in Athletic Performance
In 1958, Henry said that it is no longer possible to justify the concept of general abilities. And he goes on to say these abilities are specific to the task or activity. So you can spend a lot of time doing agility activities that aren't going to help you be agile. That's in abilities are incredibly specific. There has been no wavering on this valid phenomenon over the last 50 years.
