The Challenges of Group Instruction for Music
Group instruction is hard, but skillful teachers who teach in groups understand that there are some fundamental principles of doing whatever it is we're doing. What one kid is going to get after a minute might take another kid 10 minutes. Not everybody's going to learn this in the same way at the same time. We advantage ourselves as teachers and our students as learners if we acknowledge that and don't have a problem with it.
