The Bantu expansion into southern Africa, the Buganda expansion throughout East Africa. All of these groups saw themselves as inferior and saw those they conquered as somehow subhuman in the sense that they weren't engaged in a civilizing action. And this was real racism in the sense of denying the humanity of those who were put under the subjugation. So that's why I say it's either simply an obvious statement or patently false"
