Kimberly Lewis: Was there some icky privilege aspect to this book that was robbing me the wrong way? She asked several people she know to tell her how they personally might be contributing to systemic inequalities in the world. "Every time I choose to stay in an individual's rental apartment, rather than a hotel, I'm contributing to housing shortages and higher rents for locals," one person said. The viral underclass author Stephen Thrasher says he is responsible for many of these issues.
